Obituary for Gilbert Neal Ramey

Gilbert Neal Ramey, age 70, formerly of Buffalo Branch, Morehead, passed away Friday, November 3, 2017, at the Eastern KY Veterans Center in Hazard.

Born May 8, 1947, in Morehead, he was the son of the late Hobert Lee and Leah Armitage Ramey.

He is survived by two sons, Michael Ramey of West Liberty and Paul Ramey and wife Angie of Olive Hill; two grandchildren, Laken Ramey and fiancée Jordan Cornett and Chase Ramey; one great granddaughter, Adley Cornett; and three sisters, Karen Collins, Rosemary Jones, Erna Gay Wells and husband Bob, all of Morehead, as well as extended family and friends.

Gilbert was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and for more than twenty years was an employee at Homer Gregory Lumber Company. He enjoyed working on cars and drag racing.

At Mr. Ramey’s request, private services will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Brother Gayle Price officiating. Full military honors will be presented by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.
