Wilma Madeline “Dodie” Click, age 94, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Edgewood Estates in Frenchburg, KY.
She was born August 29, 1926, at Music in Carter County, KY, the first of 14 children of James Franklin “Frank” and Mary Burton Lucas. She was married to William Bert Click on June 28, 1948, in Greenup County, KY, a marriage that lasted 59 years until Bert’s death on March 1, 2007.
In addition to her husband and parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her precious grandson, Evan Michael Baize; a son-in-law, Frank Fiarito; five sisters, Ona Mae Bailey, Janie “Dolly” Campbell, Lois Ann Davis, Deloris “Puger” Fryer, and Brenda Kay Lucas; and four brothers, Clarence Eugene “Bug” Lucas, William Robert “Obe” Lucas, Johnny Ray Lucas, and Clay Lucas.
She is survived by four daughters, Linda Thornsbury (Don) of Catlettsburg, KY, Brenda Fiarito of Chesterton, IN, Nancy Carol Gauze (J.R.) of Salt Lick, KY, and Janet Stilley (Terry) of Mt. Vernon, IN; nine grandchildren, Jim Pierce (Julie), Cheryl Olson (Steve West), Shannon Weil (Kameron), Jeremy Redd (Katie), Tyler Thornsbury, Matthew Redd (Andrea), Rachel Dempster (Bayley), Hannah Redd (Justin Alldredge), and Jonathan Stilley; 13 great-grandchildren, Lucas Pierce, Brenna Olson (Logan Martin), Kaitlyn Thornsbury, Quinn Weil, Alivia Marliere, Samantha Redd, Madeline Pierce, Carter Weil, Kendal Redd, Hunter Redd, Lincoln Thornsbury, Kailee Alldredge, and Jax Redd; one sister, Rosemary Thornberry; three brothers, Tom Lucas, Clell Lucas and Jack Lucas; and several nieces and nephews.
Wilma was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed quilting and cooking for her family. “Dodie” was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Clell Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in Click Cemetery.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
