Willie V. Estep

Willie V. Estep, 80, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 22, 2023 in the emergency room of IUHealth Ball Memorial Hospital.

Born in Morehead, Kentucky on September 10, 1942, he was one of ten children born to Odell, Sr. and Thelma (Waltz) Estep and attended schools there.

Willie was a retired, faithful employee of General Motors.  He enjoyed small engine repair, rebuilding carburetors and even collected mowers.  Camping also was a favorite pastime of his.

Willie took Linda Alice (Rector) Bader to be his wife on September 20, 2002 and she survives.  Willie and Linda attend First Freewill Baptist Church, Yorktown.

In addition to his wife of over twenty years, he leaves two sons: William Estep and Robert (Lisa) Estep; one daughter, Sue (Jeff) Bailey; step-son, Brian (Kimberly) Bader; step-daughter, Alison Lacey; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters:  Mary Jo McClure and Gerri Cox as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and his loving dog, Mollie.

In addition to his parents, his first wife, Barbara Jean (Woolard); two brothers, Paul and Odell Estep, Jr. and five sisters:  Virginia, Ladonna, Naomi, Emogene and Genevieve, have preceded him in death.

Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 1, 2023 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City, with Pastor Jerry Miller presiding.  Burial follows at Hartford City Cemetery.  Visitation for friends and family begins at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, at the funeral home, until service time.
