William “Bill” Litton, age 92, of Morehead, KY, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 12, 2021.
Bill, the son of Roy and Thelma Caudill Litton, was born and raised in Morehead. He attended Breckinridge Training School, Purdue University, and the University of Kentucky where he majored in Engineering. His successful career included design and construction of a nuclear power plant, highway construction, design and construction of the Rowan County airport, numerous other projects around the area, and he even owned a coal mining business.
Bill served Morehead as a city councilman, served on several boards of directors, was a leader of the Masonic Lodge, but perhaps his favorite was teaching Sunday School to adults not only in Kentucky, but Florida as well. Bill was an avid outdoorsman, farmer, pilot, world traveler, philanthropist, and entrepreneur. Bill also started on the famous Breck basketball team that won the state tournament in 1946.
During college, he married his high school sweetheart, Janet Patrick, of Morehead. They were married for 55 years and the parents of two children, Danny Litton and Janie Litton Allen. Janet, Danny, and Janie all preceded him in death. Bill is survived by his son-in-law Arv Allen of Morehead, 4 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
At Bill’s request, no services are planned.
