William Edward Baker, age 61, of Petticoat Lane, Morehead, Kentucky, a devoted father, grandfather, and brother, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.
Billy was born July 6, 1959, in Middletown, Ohio, to Add Baker and Donna Rose Baker and raised by his mother, Donna Rose Baker Wilson and her husband, Ronald Wilson, who considered Billy his son. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Cassidy Baker, who passed away September 1, 2018.
Billy will be lovingly remembered by his son, Christopher Baker of Morehead; his daughter, Kimberly Baker of Demotte, Indiana; six grandchildren, Caden, Collin, Cassidy, and Ceanna Baker, Sydney Rodriguez, and Allen King.
Other survivors include three sisters, Katrinka Hendricks of Morehead, Kathleen (Barry) Crouch of Bath County, Kentucky, and Linda Peck of Covington, Louisiana, as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
A proud veteran, Billy served from 1979-85 in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. He was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, Sharpshooter (Rifle and Hand Grenade) and Parachutist Badge. He retired as a line supervisor from Osram Sylvania in Versailles. Billy enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially the grandchildren, and could nearly always be found somewhere relaxing with his best friend—his dog J. J. He was an active member of Saving the Animals of Rowan (STAR).
A memorial service will be announced by the family at a later date.
