Warner Dean Skeens, age 68, of Patties Lick Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington.
Born August 1, 1955, in Bourbon County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Elden Stirl and Anna Lee Thomas Skeens. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Gregory Skeens; one sister, Carolyn Skeens, and his father-in-law, Ronnie Perry.
Warner is survived by his wife, Jami Perry Skeens, whom he married March 21, 1997; one daughter, Angie Derrickson of Morehead; one son, Jeff Skeens of Minnesota; one brother, Johnny (Nancy) Skeens of Martinsville, Virginia; one sister, Linda Skeens of Morehead; sister-in-law, Barbara Skeens of Pikeville; mother-in-law, Sandra Perry of Morehead; and special neighbor, Leelah.
Other survivors include six grandchildren, Skyler Lewis, Cody Lewis, Cayden Skeens, Jace Skeens, Zoey Skeens, and Collin Harrell; nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Warner retired in 2015 from Sealmaster after working 37 years 8 months in quality control. He was a previous employee of Quantrell Cadillac in Lexington and Stanley Pontiac in Morehead.
He enjoyed boating, camping, 4-wheeling, and traveling to the Smokey Mountains and spending time there with Jami.
Funeral services will be conducted 12 noon Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bro. Derrick Logan officiating. The service will be livestreamed at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Facebook page beginning at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Allen Stone, Donnie Butler, Wayne Jent, Daniel White, Joe Riley, and Rocky Kidd.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2023, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
