Wales Trent Obituary

Wales Scotland Trent, age 96, of West First Street, Morehead, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at the Life Care Center of Morehead.

Born December 7, 1924, in Elliottville, he was a son of the late Harrison and Gladys Howard Trent.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Eva Trent; an adopted son, Sidney Cox; four sisters, Thelma Jean Trent Stewart, Elizabeth Trent Holloway, Shirley Faye Trent Ramey, and Gertrude Trent; and four brothers, Omer Trent, Hobert Trent, Cecil Trent, and Harrison Trent, Jr.

Thelma Edna Crum Trent, his wife of 79 years, whom he married March 3, 1941, preceded him in death on April 29, 2020.

He is survived by two sons, Ted and Sharon Trent of Clearfield and Gary and Sally Trent of Morehead; six grandchildren, Kevin (Brandie) Trent, Tyler Trent, Jim Tom Trent, Mike (April) Trent, Joy (Pope) Cudd, and Kelly (Jesse) McHugh; five great grandchildren, Zoe, Braeden, Gabe and Garrison Trent and Jaxon Cudd; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.  The family greatly appreciates the support and excellent care provided by Madge Plank and Suzette Snipes at home and Bill Hurst and all the staff at the Life Care Center during his stay there.

Wales was an employee of Lee Clay Products for 27 years until the plant closed and later worked as a brick layer for a construction company.  He finished his working years with Marathon Oil. Wales had a strong work ethic and was known to take great pride in his work.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved his family. Wales and Thelma thoroughly enjoyed having all the family and friends in their home, sharing good food and recalling the history of family and the region.  He and Thelma were gospel singers and proudly traveled with others to spread the word of God in song.  A longtime member of the Church of God, his Christian walk on a daily basis and the importance of family will forever be a shining example and a treasured memory for family and dear friends.  He will be lovingly remembered.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with Pastor Gary Madden officiating.  Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
