Vilder Wendell Bush, age 83, of Morehead, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at UK St. Claire Hospital in Morehead.
He was born April 2, 1941, in Calvin, Virginia, and was the son of the late Vilder Franklin Bush and Beatrice Edens Bush. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Crawford.
Wendell is survived by his wife of nearly 62 years, Diana Joan Duff Bush; two sons, Vilder Wendell Bush, Jr. of Morehead and Craig Alan Bush (Mary) of Beavercreek, Ohio; three grandchildren, Mason Christopher Bush (Kellie), Alexander Jacob Bush, and Sophia Beatrice Bush Carroll (Joe); and two great grandchildren, Lainey Grace Bush and August Matthew Carroll.
Other survivors include two sisters, Sue Barker (Bobie) of Wallingford and Kathy Salley (Steve) of Beavercreek, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Jerry Crawford of Springboro, Ohio; many nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.
Wendell was a retired job setter for General Motors for 19 years and was a former employee of the Dayton Press for 23 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and Cincinnati Reds fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing, attending his children and grandchildren’s ballgames, and spending time with family. Wendell loved going to Florida and spending time at the beach, taking walks and collecting seashells. He will be greatly missed and forever loved and remembered.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2835 Flemingsburg Road, Morehead, KY 40351 with Brandon Sparks officiating. Immediately following the service, family will receive friends at a reception at the Morehead Fellowship Church of God, 240 Morehead Plaza, Morehead, KY 40351.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
