Vickie Lynn Carter Skaggs, age 60, of Randolph Ridge Road, Elliott County, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Fleming County Hospital in Flemingsburg, Kentucky.
Born March 19, 1964, she is the daughter of Joan Conn Carter of Elliott County, and the late Carl Carter. Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lowell Thomas Carter, and her husband, Charles “Darren” Skaggs, who passed away June 13, 2016.
In addition to her mother, Vickie is survived by one son, Zachary Carter (Kaylee Paynter) of Elliott County; three daughters, Tina Gilliam of Elliott County, Tonya Garris of Olive Hill, and Kourtney Carter of Elliott County; nine grandchildren: Brooklyn, Carter, Bricen, Makayla, Jasmyn, Jesse, Jackson, Christian, Jonah, plus “one on the way”; and bonus grandchildren, Ariyah and Tatum.
Other survivors include one brother, James Paul Carter of Elliott County; life partner, Patrick Bromwell of Menifee County; extended family; and many friends.
Vickie was a loving Christian woman who believed in God. She was a homemaker who especially enjoyed cooking; but most of all, she adored her children and grandchildren and spending time with them. She was welcoming to anyone who came her way and was always a mother to anyone that needed one. She will be missed and remembered with love always.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Elijah Wagoner and Brother Justin Wagoner officiating. Burial will follow in John Carter Cemetery in Elliott County.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Carter, Bricen Garris, Carter Gilliam, Thomas Blevins, Chris Skaggs, and Adam Randolph.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351
