Vernon Ray Cundiff, age 83, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Monroe, Georgia, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Born October 12, 1937, in Clearfield, he was a son of the late Arnold Cundiff and Mary Ellen Bowman Cundiff. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris K. “Dee” Carr Cundiff, who passed away February 9, 2015, and one grandson, Tyler Cundiff in 2009.
Vernon is survived by two daughters, Gretchen Atkins (Dave)of Greenwood, Indiana, and Heather Parrish (Lee) of Noblesville, Indiana; one granddaughter, Stephanie Schroder (Rich) of Greenwood, Indiana; one great granddaughter, Blakley Schroder; three brothers, Carl Cundiff (Sadie) and Curt Cundiff (Janie), all of Morehead and Larry Cundiff (Sue) of Clearfield; three sisters, Carol Graham of Clearfield and Norma Jean Logan (Leroy) and Teresa Lynn Caudill (Henry, Jr.), all of Morehead; and several nieces and nephews.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a retired supervisor for Eli Lilly Pharmaceutical Company. Vernon loved spending time with his family and was an active member of Corinth Baptist Church in Loganville, Georgia.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Bowman Cemetery in Clearfield with the Rev. Max Molihan officiating. Morehead American Legion Post No. 126 will provide full military honors and serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
