Velma Ball Conn Obituary

 

Velma Lee Stacy Ball Conn, age 77, of Conn Road, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at St. Claire HealthCare after an extended illness.

 

Born October 27, 1944, in Lewis County, she was a daughter of the late James Monroe Stacy and Thelma Bevins Stacy.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Ball on May 15, 1993; five brothers, Woody Stacy, Randy Dean Stacy, Dale Stacy, Jackie Stacy, and Kevin Stacy; one granddaughter, Cassandra Lewis; and two sons-in-law, Ricky Dale Little, and Allen Ray Plank.

 

Velma is survived by her husband, Curtis Ray Conn, whom she married February 2, 2014; one son, Jamie (Melinda) Ball of Morehead; five daughters, Connie (Rick) Little and Wilma Ball, all of Morehead, Leshia (Carl) Prust and Billie Jo (Bob) Green, all of Wallingford, and Beverly Ball of Morehead; eight grandchildren, Jason Branham, Colby Plank, Amber Little, Jacob Ball, Jessica Charles, Natasha Ewalt, Emily Ball, and Wilden Logan; 28 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

 

Other survivors include two brothers, Larry Stacy and Rickie Stacy; two sisters, Roxanne Ingram and Cindy Kissick, all of Wallingford; three step children, David Conn, Diane Conn, and Kathy Holbrook, all of Morehead; several nieces and nephews; three dear friends, Karen Helterbrand, Patty Masters, and Valerie Mayse; and extended family and friends.

 

Velma was a former employee at Guardian Industries in Morehead for 8 ½ years and Cowdens Manufacturing Company for 14 years. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, watching TV, and going to Walmart. Velma was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed.

 

Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Bill Teegarden and Brother Jeff Fannin officiating.  Burial will follow at Adams-Plank Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jason Branham, Jacob Ball, Wilden Logan, Colby Plank, William Branham, Cameron Collins, David Conn, and Ryan Ewalt.

 

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
