Vanessa Lynn (Fawns) Warder

Vanessa Lynn Fawns Warder, age 61, of Hope Hill Road, Flemingsburg, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025, at UK-St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 9, 1963, in Flemingsburg, to Ronnie and Lillian Ruth DeBord Fawns.

Vanessa is survived by two sons, TJ Warder of Ewing and Nathan Warder of Flemingsburg; one daughter, Keshia Warder Sapp and husband Andrew of Lexington; and six grandchildren, Jackson, Presley, Kash, and Beau Warder, and Caroline and Adeline Sapp; her mother, Lillian Ruth DeBord Fawns of Flemingsburg; and a special friend, Shane Story of Flemingsburg.

Other survivors include two brothers, Curt Fawns (Vanessa) of Ewing and Darrin Fawns (Sheila) of Flemingsburg; several nieces and nephews, as well as aunts, uncles, and many cousins.

Vanessa was a homemaker and a graduate of Fleming County High School. She had a heart as big as a mountain and loved fishing, U.K. basketball, spending time with her grandchildren. Vanessa was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother (lovingly referred by her grandkids as, “Mamaw Nessie”), and friend who will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ronnie Fawns; maternal grandparents, Emma Pearl Kissick DeBord Burke and John Bunyan “J.B.” DeBord and Cleo Burke; and paternal grandparents, Ora and Christine Pickrell Fawns.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 40351.

Per her wishes, private graveside services for immediate family will be held at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Herbie Stallard officiating.
