Theda Faye Stevens Craig, age 94, of Farmers, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Vanceburg Rehabilitation and Health Care.
Born March 3, 1927, at Farmers in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Harry Stevens and Olive Tyree Stevens. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Gene “Sid” Craig, Lynden Stevens and Charles “Big Buddy” Stevens; one sister, June Brammer; and her husband, Danny Wayne Craig, who passed away in 1979.
Theda is survived by two sons, Dennis Stevens and Joanne of Aurora, Colorado, and Phillip Craig and Kecia of Morehead; one granddaughter, Suvannah Craig of Morehead; and two great grandsons, Wyatt Craig and Tucker Howard, as well as extended family and friends.
When the Holiday Inn opened in Morehead in the early sixties, Theda began working in Housekeeping and was a faithful employee until she retired 25 years later. Theda loved her flower and vegetable gardens, taking car rides, enjoying the scenery, and spending time with family, especially her great grandsons. She was a longtime member of the Farmers Christian Church.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Bill Teegarden officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Carl Richardson, Wyatt Craig, Jason Curtis, Chris Hamm, Billy Noble, Aza Mendez, and Gary Kissick.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
