Teresa (Prater) Carmichael

Teresa Prater Carmichael, age 65, of Goddard Road, Wallingford, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester.

Born January 9, 1956, in Maysville, she was the daughter of the late Delmas Eugene Prater and Minnie Hester Prater.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Tracy Prater, and brother-in-law, Ernest Carmichael.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Randall Taylor Carmichael, whom she married June 22, 1974; one brother, Anthony (Diana) Prater of Wallingford; a brother-in-law, Justin Carmichael of Maysville; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Prater of Wallingford and Claudia Gallagher Carmichael of Maysville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Known as an industrious worker and friendly person, Teresa began working in 1974 for the Flemingsburg Gazette for nearly 20 years, Jockey International in Maysville and Carlise for 15 years, and finished her work career as a bus driver for the Rowan County Board of Education for 10 years.

She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, sewing, spending time with her husband and Chihuahuas, Poco and Honey. Teresa will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Graveside services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Eldridge Cemetery on Bull Fork Road, Morehead with Brother Arnold Howell officiating.
