Susan Shafer-Evans Obituary

 

Susan Kay Shafer-Evans, 62, of Morehead, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead as a result of chronic illness.

 

Susan was born January 16, 1960, in Beckley, West Virginia, a daughter of David Ray Shafer, Sr. of Lawson, Missouri, and Betty A. (Shafer-Sanchez) Marshall of Clearfield.

 

She was a graduate of Rowan County High School. Susan was a former employee of Stephens Clothing Store, Goody’s Clothing Store, and manger of Fashion Bug in Morehead.  She enjoyed music, U.K. basketball, flower gardening, and ceramics.

 

Susan is survived by her son, Tristen David Shafer-Evans and wife Sabrina; three grandchildren, Cameron, Connor, and Ivy, all of Morehead; her mother, Betty A. Marshall and husband George of Clearfield; and one sister, Sharon Ginter and husband John of Morehead.

 

Other survivors include nine very special nieces and nephews, Brianna and Avalyn Trainor, Bianca Strack (Luke), James Jackson, Jarid Olson, Steven Cox (Brandis), Risa Boyd (Danny), Chris Shafer, and Jade Jones; other extended family and friends; as well as her beloved dogs, Sissy and Little Bit.

 

She was preceded in death by a sister, Saundra Marie Garbau, and a brother, David Ray Shafer.

 

At Susan’s request, there will be no visitation and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
