It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Graham Hazel. She departed this world on July 13, 2024, at the age of 89, after a short illness.
Susan was born on July 5, 1935, in Clark County, Ohio. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Louis James Graham and Barbara Jane (Leffel) Graham; her beloved husband, Bob Hazel; and her cherished daughter, Molly Ann (Tunie) Graham Sharp. Her memory lives on through her surviving children: Susan Stafford, Lydia MacKenzie, Lucy Ross, and Brandy (Jason) McCarty; her grandson, Branden Neal; her granddaughters, Megan Price and Holly and Molly McCarty; two great grandsons, Trenton Powers and Andrew (Andy) Ison; and many nieces and nephews who will forever hold her in their hearts.
Susan loved the outdoors, working with her flowers, mowing her yard, attending yard sales, reading the Bible and watching Christian shows, taking care of her K-9 terrier Sparkle and most of all spending time with her family.
Susan's legacy is one of love, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family. Her kind spirit and gentle soul touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
May she rest in peace, reunited with her parents, her husband and her daughter, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
A private service and burial will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, in Morehead, Kentucky, to honor Susan's life and her contributions to her family and community. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Susan's memory.
