Sue Thomas Hardin, age 85, of Morehead, passed away Friday, January 23, 2026, at her residence.
Born March 14, 1940, in Morehead, she was the daughter of the late James Ruben Thomas and Sybrina Sparks Thomas. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by nine siblings: John Carl Thomas, Emma Lee Smith, Edith Chadwell, Ruby Elam, Claudie Thomas, Mary Jane Kidd, Clayton R. Thomas, Vinda Moore, and Madge Elliott; one grandson, Ryan Hubbard; and one son-in-law, James Stamper.
Sue’s husband of 56 years, Bobby Dee Hardin, whom she married June 14, 1958, passed away on August 8, 2014.
Sue is survived by four children: Teresa (Tim) Hughes of Dallas, Georgia, Tom (Lisa) Hardin of Morehead, Tony (Chris) Hardin of Versailles, and Kimberly Stamper of Morehead. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Cassandra Anderton, Jacob (Kayla) Hardin, Brandon Hubbard (Ryan Anderson), and Emma (Sean) Bishop, along with two great grandchildren: Brynlee Baxter and Aubrie Anderton.
Other survivors include two brothers, James E. Thomas and Clyde A. Thomas, and one sister, Bonnie T. Wood, all of Morehead, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Sue was a devoted in-home caregiver who lovingly cared for others. She enjoyed gardening and growing beautiful flowers and truly had a “green thumb.” She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sue was a faithful member of Clearfield Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with her son Pastor Tony Hardin and Brother John C. Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.
Visitation for Sue Thomas Hardin will be from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
