Shirley Jean Hackney, age 64, of Morehead, went home to Jesus on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at 9:51 p.m.
Born in Dos Palos, California, Shirley was predeceased by her father, George Whitworth; mother, Helen Louise Teixeira; brothers, Calvin Ray Whitworth and John H. Whitworth; and sisters, Colleen T. Mercado and Sharon Lee Whitworth.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Dr. Rick D. Hackney; her daughter, Marissah Nicole Hackney; her brother, Steven Teixeira; and her nieces and nephews, lifelong family friends, and brothers and sisters in the Lord.
Shirley never met a stranger and has touched so many lives by her love and ministry. Shirley dedicated her life to Jesus Christ and ministering His word and message to countless souls all over Northern California and beyond. She loved going into places no one else wanted to minister. She was loved by Schools and Churches all over. She was a beloved Featured Speaker, Pastor, Writer and she loved her newly found hobby of being a Podcast Producer. She loved speaking and traveling all over to Women's Conferences while her daughter would sing. Above all, she was known for loving the unloved.
A Celebration of Life will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Johnny Hatfield and Pastor Joe Cline officiating.
Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2020, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, North East, 100 Veterans Memorial Drive, Grayson, KY 41143, with the Rev. Johnny Hatfield officiating.
Visitation for Shirley Hackney will be 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2020, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
