Sherri Lynn Gardner Ferguson, age 61, of Hungry Hollow Road, Morehead, passed away Friday, November 19, 2021, at her residence after an extended illness.
Born July 27, 1960, in Morehead, she was the daughter of the late Watt and Elsie Cundiff Gardner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sharon Jent and Joyce Reeves, and a son, Josh Ferguson.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Gene Ferguson, whom she married February 16, 2003; two daughters, Amber DeHart of Olive Hill and Ashley DeHart of Morehead; and two grandchildren, Bentley Elliott and Koltyn Elliott.
Other survivors include two brothers, Gary Gardner of Morehead and Charles Gardner of Haldeman; one sister, Sheila Caudill of Hillsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Sherri was a homemaker and a 1978 graduate of Rowan County High School. She was of the Church of God faith and enjoyed working word search puzzles, watching U.K. basketball games, being outdoors, and raising a garden, especially radishes. Most of all, Sherri loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel.
At Sherri’s request, a funeral service will not be held.
