Sarah Jane (Oakley) Carver

Sarah Jane Oakley Carver, age 93, of Mansfield, Ohio, formerly of Bethel Ridge Road, Olive Hill, went home to be with Lord on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

She was born May 8, 1932, in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Herman and Dorothy Hall Oakley.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Thomas “J. T.” Carver on September 16, 2012; five brothers, Sim, Jimmy, Bill, Wilford, and Louie Oakley; and two sisters, Lenore Catron and Linda Carter.

Sarah is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Larry Jay and Shirley Carver of Mansfield, Ohio; three grandchildren, Stephanie Carver Moore and husband Will, Melissa Carver and partner Robert Rogers, and, and T Jay Carver and wife Christa; six great grandchildren; and four step grandchildren.

Other survivors include one sister, Arlene Oakley Porter; four sisters-in-law, Shirley Oakley, Dwayne Littleton, Barb Carver, and Beverly Oakley; a special cousin, Judy Oakley; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and other relatives and friends.

Sarah was a homemaker and a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a former sewing machine operator and cook at the Shelby Nursing Home in Shelby, Ohio.  She was a member of Old Oakland Christian Church and Bethel Community Church.  Sarah will be greatly missed and remembered always.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Evan Meyer officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, Kentucky 40351.
