Ruth (Evans) Estep

Ruth Evans Estep, age 81, of Cranston Road, Morehead, was born June 9, 1938, in Cranston, and passed away Friday, October 11, 2019, at her home. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Vernon Estep; one daughter, Melissa Kinder and husband Greg; one son, Harold Craig Estep and wife Brenda, all of Morehead; three grandchildren, Jessica Estep-Tam, Lindsay Brown, and Morgan Craft; four great grandchildren, Caleb and Emma Brown and Phineas and Lydia Tam.

Ruth was preceded in death by her mother, Mayme Evans, and one great grandson, Kestrel Brown. 

In the early sixties, Ruth and Vernon moved to New Lebanon, Ohio, to work.   Ruth was employed by the New Lebanon Elementary School cafeteria and owned and operated a custodial service for commercial businesses.  They returned to Morehead in 1997.  In addition to being a homemaker, Ruth enjoyed camping, listening to Bluegrass music, watching the U.K. Wildcats, and taking care of her animals.  Most of all, she loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.

At Ruth’s request, there is no visitation, but family and friends are welcome to attend a public graveside service on Monday, October 14, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at the Evans Cemetery (100 Evans Cemetery Road, Morehead) with Cynthia Blanton Engelhardt officiating.
