Ruby A. (Gee) Schramm

Ruby A. Gee Schramm, age 86, of Wilmington, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Laurels of Blanchester in Blanchester, Ohio.

Born April 21, 1935, at Olive Hill, in Carter County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Andy and Nano Eastell Underwood Gee.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty McDaniel and Pearl Freda Gee Clark, and six brothers, Eugene, Daniel, Vaniel, Tennis, and Roy Gee, and infant Ersel Gee.

Ruby’s husband, Roger Schramm, also preceded her in death on July 8, 1993.

Mrs. Schramm is survived by one son, Roger Schramm, and one daughter, Eastell Schramm, both of Wilmington, Ohio; one brother, Phillip Michael (Bonnie) Gee of Newton Falls, Ohio; three sisters-in law, Kathleen Gee, Wilma Gee, and Myrna Schlenk; and devoted nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. 

Ruby was a loving wife and mother whose family was most important to her.  She was a well-known babysitter for more than 20 years in Clinton County and maintained friendships with many children she babysat through the years.  She was also certified to babysit children of unwed mothers who were continuing their education. A volunteer in various community organizations, she especially enjoyed the numerous hours she donated to the Green Thumb program.  In 1998, she was the recipient of the Green Thumb Award of Merit in recognition of her contributions to the program.  She was a faithful member of the First Church of God in Wilmington.   

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2020, at Gee Cemetery with Pastor Jack Hinton officiating.  At Ruby’s request, there will be no visitation.
