Roy Rose Obituary

Roy Ernest Rose, age 76, of Elliott County, passed away Monday, February 20, 2023, at his home, after a battle with heart disease.

 

Born March 4, 1946, in Elliott County, he was a son of the late Earnest William Rose and Grace Lyon Rose.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Elmon Rose, Vernon Rose, Leonard Rose, and Paul Rose, and two sisters, Mary Ann Lemasters and Bonnie Lou Rose.

 

He is survived by his wife, Deloris Rose; one brother, Jerry (Stephanie) Rose; one sister, Leeda (Colin) Cox, all of Olive Hill; three sisters-in-law, Betty Rose, Sharon Rose, and Carol Rose Hester; many nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.

 

Roy was a lifelong farmer and logger. He enjoyed the great outdoors, riding horses, raising cattle, and most of all spending time with family and friends.  He will be greatly missed and always remembered. 

 

Graveside services will be conducted 4 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Clark Cemetery in Elliott County with Brother Timmy Porter officiating.

 

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
