Ronie David Slone, age 69, of Quesinberry Road, Morehead, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.
Born November 9, 1952, at Laurel in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Vercil “Did” Sloan and Lornelle Brown Sloan. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Wyatt J. Slone; one brother, Ricky Lee Slone; and two sisters, Brenda Jean Hunt and Colleen Sloan Kidd.
Ronie is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patricia Kaye Alexander Slone, whom he married July 17, 1971; one son, J. C. Slone and wife Ashley Dawn of Morehead; and four grandchildren, Alissa, Lakota, Gage, and Axel Slone.
Other survivors include three brothers: Donnie Dale Sloan of Kettering, Ohio, Mickie Edward Sloan and wife Carol, and Michael Dean Sloan, all of Morehead; three sisters, Vicky Ann Kidd and husband Alvin, Sharon Kay Trent and husband Gary, Teresa Lynn Williams and husband Forrest, all of Morehead; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
David was a former logger and sawmiller at the family sawmill. He loved to fish and go horseback riding, and also enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon Friday, November 19, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Arnold Ison and Elder David Nickell officiating.
Burial will follow in the Quesinberry Cemetery in Morehead.
Pallbearers: Chris Kidd, Zeb Clark, EB Copher, Vern Hunt, Shannon Sloan, Albert Kidd, Rocky Kidd, and Rennie Neubecker.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Friday, November 19, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
For the safety of everyone, the family requests all who attend to please wear a mask.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
