Ronald "Ronnie" B. Lewis

Ronald B. Lewis, age 71, of Morehead, formerly of Wrigley, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022, at his residence in Morehead.

Born January 8, 1951, in Morgan County, he is the son of Naomi E. Weddington Lewis and the late Wendell E. Lewis.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Dwight A. Lewis of Wrigley, and one niece, Sarah Ashley Blanton of Oil Springs.

Survivors who will cherish his memory include his mother, Naomi E. Weddington Lewis of Wrigley, now residing in Cave Run Manor in Morehead; one brother and his wife, Danny and Carolyn Lewis of Wrigley; one sister and her husband, Valerie and Daryl Blanton of Oil Springs; extended family and special friends, including Katie Thompson and Liz Pecco, as well as his precious little dog, Buddy. 

Ronnie worked hard on the family farm as a young boy.  After graduating from Morgan County High School, he went to Ohio to work as a carpenter with Cincinnati Carpenters Local and later joined Plumbers-Pipefitter Local in Huntington, West Virginia, as a welder.  He also owned a used car business that he worked between jobs with the union.  Ronnie was meticulous with his work and was known as an expert in every job. Following his retirement as a welder, Ronnie did not enjoy “unemployment,” so he joined G & W Construction and B & B Equipment Rental to stay busy and keep his mind occupied. A bonus was the friendship he treasured with the Alderman and Bradley families. Ronnie will be remembered as a man of his word; a hardworking, loyal employee; and a family member who always remembered and appreciated his heritage.  He attended Fannin Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bro. Charles Skaggs and Bro. John Paul Skaggs officiating.  Burial will follow at Lewis Family Cemetery in Wrigley.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Alderman, Chase Alderman, Danny Ray Fannin, Robby Adkins, Mike Copley, Whitney Bradley, Will Bradley, and Michael Blanton.  Honorary pallbearers will be Stanley Wilson, Ronnie Gale Adkins, Denver Lykins, Ralph Burton, Paul Clevenger, Frankie Ratliff, and Bobby Skaggs.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY  40351.
