Rodney Francis Durocher, age 85, of Salt Lick, Kentucky, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025, at UK- St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.
Born June 1, 1940, in Hancock, Michigan, he was the son of the late Floyd H. Durocher and Mary B. Holly Durocher.
Rodney is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Barbara Partin Durocher; his daughter and son-in-law, Fawn and Doug Black of Salt Lick; one sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Lee Banfield of Dollar Bay, Michigan; three grandchildren, Hunter Bo Black, Kaylee Black, and Nicholas Black, all of Salt Lick; and three nieces, Leah, Terra, and Dana.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard. Rodney was a retired blast technician for Koker Construction Company and a former blaster for Addington Coal. He was of the Catholic faith.
Rodney loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Father Ronald Sagum officiating.
Following the funeral service, full military honors will be presented by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Carey Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Doug Black, Hunter Black, Nicholas Black, Braden Smith, Dawson Smith, and Carsyn Bailey.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
