Roberta Gorman Cooper Holbrook, age 78, of Hart Pike, Owingsville, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.
She was born May 28, 1943, in Lewis County, and was the daughter of the late Lonnie Gorman and Bessie Howard Gorman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Harry Gorman, Paul Jack Gorman, John H. Gorman, James Luther Gorman, and Richard Gorman, and one sister, Mary Maxine Richmond.
Roberta is survived by her husband of 21 years, Donald Holbrook, whom she married July 14, 2000; one son, Keven Cooper of Hillsboro; two step sons, Donald W. Holbrook of Hillsboro and Wendell A. Holbrook of Morehead; two step daughters, Amanda L. Holbrook of Morehead and Rachel Biddle of Carlisle; 16 step grandchildren; one step great granddaughter; one brother, Thomas Gorman of Wallingford; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Roberta was a school bus driver for the Fleming County Board of Education for 24 years and retired in 2004. Also, for 24 years she and Don mowed Brown Cemetery in Morehead.
She was of the Jehovah Witness faith. Roberta enjoyed making quilts in her spare time and took pride in working on her farm. She had a “green thumb” when it came to raising flowers. She will be remembered with love and greatly missed.
At Roberta’s request, no services will be held. Private burial will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
