Robert Matthew “Bob” Salmons, age 73, of Tippet Avenue, Morehead, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2024, at his residence.
Bob was born November 24, 1950, in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of the late Boone Salmons and Winona Adkins Salmons Bradley. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Luther James “L.J.” Salmons and Lee Dale Salmons; two sisters, Carolyn Trent and Hattie Utterback; and his daughter, Tina Salmons.
He is survived by two daughters, Tonya Salmons (Randy Wright) of Collinsville, Alabama, and Tammy Salmons of Wolfe County; one brother, Boone Salmons of Wallingford; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, and special friend, Jeffrey Goodan. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Bob was a self-employed carpenter and skilled mechanic, especially on automobiles. He enjoyed all kinds of racing and at one time drag raced in his own car. He never met a stranger, enjoyed practical jokes, and good-natured teasing was one of his favorite pastimes. He will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Epperhart Cemetery, Wilson-Epperhart Cemetery Road, Morehead, KY 40351 with Pastor Roy Lands officiating.
