Richard Allen “Dick” Parker, age 86, of Haldeman Road, Morehead, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 12, 2025, at UK–St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.
Born March 7, 1939, in Morehead, he was the son of the late Elmer Parker and Vada Joyce Cartee Parker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Parker, and a son-in-law, Travis Henderson.
Dick is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Gary Eileen MacDuff Parker, whom he married May 7, 1978; two sons, Brian Willerscheidt and Scott Willerscheidt, both of Tacoma, Washington; three daughters, Linda LuQuette (Tom) and Betty Hennion (Fred), both of Tacoma, Washington, and Lisa Henderson of Olive Hill; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are one sister, Mary Andrea Knipp (Austin) of Morehead; a sister-in-law, Ruby Parker of Morehead; several nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
Dick honorably served 20 years in the United States Army. Following his military career, he served faithfully as a minister with the Morehead First Church of the Nazarene and other Nazarene congregations. He was also a former employee of Walmart and Sears.
He loved all animals—especially dogs—and enjoyed reading the Bible, fishing, and spending time with his family.
At Dick’s request, a memorial service will be held at a later date at the Morehead First Church of the Nazarene.
