Ret. Maj. Steven Fouch Obituary

Ret. Maj. Steven Daniel Fouch of Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of Morehead, passed away peacefully among family on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Abrazo West Campus hospital in Goodyear, Arizona.

 

Born November 1, 1962, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, he is the son of John Fouch of Morehead and the late Loreda Hardin Fouch, and stepson of Charlene Fouch.

 

Steven is also survived and will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Shellee Aldrich-Fouch; one stepson, Andrew Aldrich and girlfriend, Emilee Tapani; one stepdaughter, Amber Tendler, and step-grandchildren Vivianne and Maverick Tendler; stepsisters, Angela Money and Melissa Pennington; as well as his beloved dogs, or “buddies,” Peanut and Juju Fouch.

 

Steven was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. His greatest accomplishments include the rank of Major, aircraft instructor, aircraft pilot, and advanced operations for Air Force One working closely with some of our nation’s past leaders.  He was awarded the Aerial Achievement Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with 2 devices, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 1 device, Combat Readiness Medal with 1 device, National Defense Service Medal with 1 device, Air Force Training Ribbon with 1 device, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award with 4 devices, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 6 devices, Air Force Organizational Excellence Award with 1 device, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Air Force Good Conduct Medal.

 

After retiring from the Air Force, Steven worked a number of commercial pilot jobs and finished his career flying as a captain for Southwest Airlines. With his captivating smile and contagious laugh, Steven had a way of making each and every person in his life feel special. Steven was a lover of Corvettes, an unforgettable storyteller, and a friend and hero to many. He will be remembered for his fun-loving personality, thoughtfulness, abundant generosity, unwavering integrity, and as much knowledge as anyone could hope to have. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten by family, friends, and coworkers.

 

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals (400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351).  A celebration of life will be held 1 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel, with Steve’s lifelong friend, Mark Poston, presiding.  Interment will follow at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Corbie Ellington American Legion Post 126, P.O. Box 58, Morehead, KY 40351.
