Phyllis (Stamper) Roberts

Phyllis Stamper Roberts, age 88, of Rawcel Heights, Morehead, went to be with the Lord on December 8, 2021, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

Born November 28, 1933, in Farmers, she was the daughter of the late Charles Stamper and Reva Elam Stamper.  She was also preceded in death by one sister, Glenda Davis, and two brothers, Joe and Lloyd Stamper.

Jack Roberts, her loving husband of 49 years, passed away March 9, 2000. 

Phyllis is survived by one daughter, Jackie (Joel) Qualls of Morehead; two sons, David Roberts of Frankfort and Jimmy (Gerri) Roberts of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Pamela Phillips, Dwight Roberts, James Qualls, Jeremy Roberts, Kayla Murray; and three great grandchildren, Jackson, Cole, and Hannah Phillips.  Others to cherish her memory include her sister, Martha Rigsby of Villa, Indiana; extended family; and dear friends.

Known as an industrious worker and friendly person, Phyllis began her career at the age of 15 at Bob Bishop’s Drug Store, when she worked until she graduated from high school.  Later she was a payroll clerk at Cowden Mfg., secretary for Gene White Lumber and Ray White Lumber companies, purchasing agent at Morehead State University, and retired as customer service representative from Quentin Caudill Farm Bureau.  Always wanting to serve others, Phyllis enjoyed her many years of volunteering at St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Rowan County Senior Citizens Center, and First Church of God, where she was a member.  She also enjoyed reading and word search; but most of all, Phyllis loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be forever remembered with love by her devoted family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held 3:30 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Cecil Ison officiating. The service will be live streamed on Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Facebook page beginning at 3:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.   

Pallbearers:  James Qualls, Dwight Roberts, Chuck Davis, Jeremy Roberts, Jack Phillips and Andrew Crum. 

Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
