Paula Sue Hardin Crowe, age 71, of Lexington, Kentucky, joined her family and the Lord on Monday, May 30, 2022, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Paula was born June 27, 1950, in Middletown, Ohio, a daughter of the late Cecil Monroe Hardin and Lucille Pompili Hardin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Winslow Crowe; granddaughter, Hope Lynn Wilson, and a niece, Traci Hardin Swartz.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Victoria Lynn Wilson and husband Matthew Lynn Wilson of Lexington; cherished grandchildren, Kyle Matthew Wilson, Ashleigh Victoria Wilson, Ryleigh Grace Wilson, Kayleigh Elizabeth Wilson, Nathan Bryan Wilson and wife Laura Blair Wilson; and a great grandbaby due in November, 2022.
A lifelong learner, Paula was the first female EMT in Morehead during the mid-1970s. She loved helping people and worked as an LPN surgical nurse at St. Claire Medical Center for 20 years and a Registered Nurse at Central Baptist Hospital for five years.
Paula’s favorite name to be called was Mamaw. She loved her children, Vikki and Bryan, and worked diligently to provide them with a good life in Morehead. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and horseback riding. She played and coached sports as a youth and adult. She encouraged everyone to continue education as she did to better her life. She loved taking her grandkids to get ice cream and yogurt after preschool, attending their various activities, and traveling to Disney World. She was kind, loving, funny and compassionate with everyone. She was “Mom” and “Mammaw” to many. She will be dearly missed by family and friends here on earth as she is being embraced by family and friends in Heaven.
A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. on June 13, 2022, followed by a cookout from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2459 Sir Barton Way, Lexington, KY 40509.
