Ona Rebecca (Church) Smith Chapman

Ona Rebecca Church Smith Chapman, age 81, formerly of Riddle Road, Owingsville, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022, at her home in Indian Mound, Tennessee.

Born August 20, 1940, at Canada, Kentucky, in Pike County, she was the daughter of the late Newman Church and Mae Blackburn Church.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Willie T. Smith, who passed away February 5, 2006; two daughters, Thelma Jean Smith Craig and Emma Grace Chapman; three sons, Johnny Smith, Willie Edgar Smith, and Bobby Smith; and two brothers, Sylvanis Church and William Church.   

Ona is survived by her husband, Ronald Chapman; six sons, Frankie and Mary Smith of Salt Lick, Jeff and Sandy Smith of Ocala, Florida, Thomas James and Mary Smith of Easley, South Carolina, Larry Smith of Clarksville, Tennessee; David and Isabel Smith of Owingsville, and Randy and Serena Smith of Flatwoods; two daughters, Sarah Bell Smith of Orange City, Florida, and Beatrice Marie McClain of Warren, Michigan; one sister, Stella Fay and Junior Thacker of Pike County; two brothers, Truman and Ruby Church of Punta Gorda, Florida, and Elbert and Gail Church of Pike County; a slew of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other family.

Ona was a former employee of Walmart in Morehead and was a member of Salt Lick Freewill Baptist Church. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.

Funerals services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Andy Lands and Randy Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Dickerson Cemetery at Salt Lick.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.  Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, Kentucky 40351.
