Olive Spurlock Fultz, 78, of Colfax, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 6, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born November 23, 1943, in Colfax, to the late John Hinton Spurlock and Lora Caudill Spurlock. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Rev. Lenville Spurlock, Vernon Dee Spurlock, and Virgil Spurlock, and three sisters, Dorothy
Spurlock, Audrey Spurlock, and Marjorie Spurlock Harmon.
Olive is survived by her husband of 55 years, Henry Fultz; one daughter, Melinda Sparks (Sherman) of Grange City; one son, Jeffrey Fultz of Colfax; four grandchildren, Sarah Terry (Steve), Lora Sparks, Andrea Allen (Trevor), and Hunter Fultz; and one great grandson, Steven Terry.
Other survivors include one brother, Kenneth “Chester” Spurlock of Goshen Indiana; one sister, Barbara Flora (Bobby) of Colfax; several nieces and nephews; as well as extended family, her church family, and many friends.
Olive was retired from Pioneer Trace Nursing Home where she worked for many years. She was a faithful member of Tunnel Hill First Church of God where she played the piano for many years.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Olive was one of the sweetest and kindest people you would ever meet. You would never leave her home hungry. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Olive will be missed greatly by her family.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2022, at Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Randy Hawkins and Pastor Richard Engle officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Scotty Dailey, Dennis Sparks, Jamie Hawkins, Steve Terry, Trevor Allen, and Ethan Hawkins. Honorary pallbearers: Roy Fultz, Robert Flora, Daryl Harmon, and Chester Spurlock.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049.
