Oleta Jane Black Muse, age 84, of Mount Sterling Road, Winchester, formerly of Morehead, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at U. K. HealthCare in Lexington.
Born May 28, 1937, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Ray Dewey Black and Ethel Lena Lewis Black.
Jane’s loving husband of 63 years, Clifford Harold Muse, whom she wed December 22, 1957, passed away January 27, 2021. She was also preceded in death by her beloved dog, Poindexter.
She is survived by one son, Eric Muse and wife Kelly of Winchester; one brother, Billy Ray Black and wife Lois; one sister, Jeannie Bradley and husband Randy, all of Morehead; four grandchildren, Nathan, Josh, Jose, and David Muse; several nieces and nephews; as well as extended family, including her church family, and friends.
A lifelong Christian, Jane supported her husband’s ministry for more than 60 years and was a successful homemaker. She had a special place in her heart for children and babysat for a number of families. Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her life was a living testimony of God’s grace and her desire was to make heaven her home. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jack Hinton officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Nathan, Josh, Jose, and David Muse and Duran, Brent, and Kyle Bradley.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
