Nadine Woods Burmeister, age 86, of North Fork Drive, Morehead, peacefully made her journey to Heaven on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the Ridgeway Nursing & Rehab Center in Owingsville.
Born August 25, 1939, in San Francisco, California, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Charles Woods and Catherine Bout Woods. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry Burmeister; two brothers, Ernest Woods and Ronald Woods; her son-in-law, Michael Ledbetter; and a great-grandson, Killian.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Ledbetter of Marshall, Texas; her son, Leslie Burmeister; two stepdaughters, Janice and Judy; two grandchildren, Andrea (Michael) McAnelly of Salt Lick and Jeremy Ledbetter of Marshall, Texas; twelve great-grandchildren, Aaron, Arial (Chris), Avery (Rayann), Bella, Eli “Baby E,” Skyla, Nicholas, Lili, Christian, Benjamin, Merida, and Waylon; and three great-great-grandchildren, Oaklynn, Hayden, and River. Also included as family are her very close and dear friends, Robert and Lola Boram.
Nadine was affectionately known as “Nana” to everyone she met. She was loved and cherished for her kind, selfless, and outgoing spirit. Anyone who knew her felt safe in her presence and knew she always had room for one more in her home, no matter the day or hour.
She was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, whose greatest joy came from watching her loved ones grow and nurturing them when they needed it most.
Her love extended beyond her family to anyone who crossed her path. She was deeply devoted to her church and to the people within it, whom she considered family. Nadine loved adventure, and her beautiful soul shone brightly—something you couldn’t help but fall in love with.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at a later date.
