Murvil Carl “Red” Warren, age 78, of Thomas Lane, Clearfield, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester.
Born October 28, 1942, in Rowan County, he was a son of the late Willard Lee Warren and Ethel Little Warren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Etta Darlene Warren Wooten, and three brothers, Willard Warren, Jr., Richard Warren, and infant Allen Warren.
Red is survived by two daughters, Kim Warren of Clay City and Erica Price (Andy) of Mt. Sterling; two sons, Marty Warren (Lora Anderson) of Means and Scott Warren (Jeanetta Elswick) of Clay City; 16 grandchildren, Steven Warren, Paige Clark, Alley Warren, Carly Watson, Chase Hall, Matthew Price, Chris Price, Nicholas Price, Megan Kiser, Kelsie Warren, Jacob Scott Warren, Jacob Wesley Smith, McKenzie Warren, Chris Ray Markwell, Cami Warren, and Bryson Warren; 11 great grandchildren, Avery Warren, Khloe Clark, Jayson Clark, Rowen Watson, Lillie Kiser, Hadley Kiser, Brody Kiser, Addison Stamper, Briar Stamper, Hudson Stamper, and an expected baby girl Warren; and the mother of his children, Bev Basford Warren of Morehead.
Other survivors include two brothers, Claude “Diddy Bo” Warren and Jeff Warren, both of Morehead and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Red was a U. S. Army veteran and was a retired truck driver and a former coal miner working in mines in Martin County and West Virginia. He attended Siloam First Church of God. Red was an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt and loved watching NASCAR, fishing, and especially spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ron Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126. The service will be live streamed at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Facebook page beginning at 1 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Steven Warren, Chase Hall, Matthew Price, Jacob Scott Warren, Chris Price, and Kim Warren. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Smith, Chris Markwell, Bryson Warren, and Nicholas Price.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 2021, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
COVID-19 mandates will be observed including masks and social distancing.
