Mona Rae Sloan, 66, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Life Care Center in Morehead.

Born March 23, 1960, in Topeka, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late William Baldwin Sloan and Julia “Judy” Evelyn Hall Sloan.

Mona is survived by her sister, Rosemary Sloan of Olive Hill; her brothers, Keith Sloan of Cincinnati, Ohio, David Sloan of Waldport, Oregon, and Ronald Sloan of Morehead; her niece and nephew, Sara Krug and Anthony Stubbs, both of Florida; and many friends who cherished her kindness and companionship.

A graduate of Morehead State University, Mona earned degrees in teaching and business. She dedicated much of her life to helping others, working as a caregiver and serving as a substitute teacher for the Rowan County Board of Education. She also shared her knowledge and faith while teaching at Clearfield Tabernacle Christian School.

Mona found joy in researching her family history and preserving the stories and photographs. She loved cooking and collecting recipes.  She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

There will be no visitation or funeral services held.
