Michael Wayne Garner, age 76, of East Main Street, Morehead, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025, at his residence.
Born October 11, 1949, in Lexington, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Brooks Herman and Marie Troxell Garner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Garner, and one brother, Gerald Garner.
Michael was also preceded in death by his devoted wife, Joeretta Butler Garner, on September 18, 2018; three children, Angie Nance, Ben Garner and Sarah Garner; and one grandson, Logan Garner.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory four grandchildren, Zachary Lenix Nance, Megan Loy, Kelsey Nance, and Holly Nance; two sisters, Judy Maze and husband LaVerne and Donna Jean Dickerson and husband Timmy, all of Salt Lick; two brothers, Jerry Ray Garner of Salt Lick and Roger Dale Garner of Tennessee, as well as extended family and friends, including special friend, Lee Allen.
Michael was a retired construction worker and greatly enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and never tired of operating his radio-controlled vehicles. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
In fulfilling Michael’s requests, no services are planned.
