Maynard Hoyt Obituary

Maynard N. Hoyt, 82, of Pheasant Lane, Wellington, formerly of Rumford Corner, Maine, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 10, 2021, at his residence.

Born on October 27, 1938, in Rumford Corner, Maine, he was a son of the late Wayland and Flora (McDonald) Hoyt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Kenneth Hoyt, Francis Hoyt, Ralph Hoyt, and Shirley Hoyt McKenna; a nephew, Michael Hoyt; and best friend, Asa Sessions and wife Zora.

He is survived by a special friend, Sunshine Sessions Walters of Wellington; an aunt, Theresa (McDonald) Montoya; his siblings, Raymond (Earline) Hoyt, Donald (Andrea) Hoyt, Alice Hoyt, and Florence Hoyt Lagasse; several nieces and nephews; a special niece, Debra “Dee-Dee” Hoyt Blaisdell, who was like a daughter to him; and friends, Charles McKenna and Mickey “Boo-Boo” Perry.

Maynard attended Rumford schools and later served in the Army National Guard. He was a farm manager for Asa Sessions and wife Zora in Andover, Maine, Indiana, and Kentucky for over 50 years. He lived with them until their passing and then lived with their daughter, Sunshine.  He became one of the family, a brother, a dad, and a grandpa to all of their children, especially Asa I., Savannahmae, Maddlyn, Navaeh, Brooklynn, and Shelby. He will be greatly missed.

He enjoyed listening to country music, especially Johnny Cash, watching Hee-Haw and wrestling, and spoiling his two dogs, Putts and Molly.

At his request, there will be no visitation and a graveside service will be held at a later date.
