Mary Beth (McKenzie) Fulkrod

Mary Beth Fulkrod, age 58, of Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.

Mary Beth was born on May 17, 1966, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of Earl Roger McKenzie and Thelma “Jean” McKenzie. She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Roger McKenzie on February 22, 2005.  

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Robert Fulkrod; a son, Steven Fulkrod of Morehead, a daughter, Stephanie Jennings and husband Jacob Jennings of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; a brother, Roger McKenzie of Saint Albans, West Virginia; and her mother, Thelma “Jean” McKenzie of Morehead.

Mary Beth grew up in Anderson, Indiana, and graduated the Class of 1984 from Pendleton Heights High School in Pendleton, Indiana. During the fall of 1997, she and her husband Robert moved to Morehead. She worked as a cook at Lakeside Christian Academy and later transitioned to the Rowan County Public School system where she continued to cook and also became a bus monitor.

She enjoyed cooking, driving around listening to loud music, and being with her lifelong best friend Jeanne Birkla, whom she shared everything with. Her quick-witted and fun personality made her a light to be around and she will continuously be loved and missed by many.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial chapel with Pastor Aaron Conn officiating. Burial will follow in New Alfrey Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert Fulkrod, Steven Fulkrod, Jacob Jennings, Roger McKenzie, Dalton King, Jeff Evans, and Larry Mutschler.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
