Mary Alice Mullins Bradway, 67, of Woodland Drive, Morehead, KY, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022, at her residence.
She was born February 6, 1955, in Pikeville, KY, a daughter of the late Brandt and Stella McBrayer Mullins. She is survived by two daughters, Jessica Lauren Bradway of Milwaukee, WI, and Alana Elizabeth Bradway Lewis (Marty); one grandson, William Brandt Lewis; one brother, Stephen Brandt Mullins of Pikeville, KY; and two special caregivers, Kayla Gray and Susie Collins.
Mary moved to Morehead in the early 80’s for graduate school. While at Morehead State University, she met and married Arnold George Bradway. She worked at the Morehead Treatment Center, which became the Morehead Youth Development Center, for sixteen years. Then she became Director of Kentucky Baptist Homes for Children (later Sunrise Children’s Services) where she worked until she retired.
Mary’s creativity knew no bounds. She could sew ANYTHING whether she had a pattern or not—from baby blankets and booties to prom dresses and costumes. She could design them all. She loved to doodle and color. There wasn’t a calendar or piece of paper that didn’t contain a design, spiral, or splash of color.
A celebration of life will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Northcutt and Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jeremy Halstead officiating. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2022, and after 1 p.m. Tuesday at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Menifee Animal Shelter, PO Box 75, Frenchburg, KY 40322 or St. Claire Hospice, 222 Medical Circle, Morehead, KY 40351.
