Mary Jewell McRoberts of Lexington, KY, passed away September 3, 2024, at the age of 92 at Baptist Health Hospice Center. She was a former resident at Magnolia Springs Assisted Living Center.
Born April 20, 1932, in Morehead, KY, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Laura Caudill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Leo McRoberts; a sister and five brothers.
She is survived by son, Michael and his wife Gale of Overland Park, KS; daughter Teresa Kay McRoberts and her husband Steve Palfrey of Juno Beach, FL; four grandchildren Lynn McRoberts of Kansas, David and his wife Ali McRoberts of Colorado, Jessica Palfrey and fiancé Michael Fanton of Illinois and Ian and Alex Palfrey of Connecticut; and one great-grandson, Winston McRoberts of Colorado; one brother, Cleo Caudill and his wife Betty of Ohio; sister-in-law Mildred Caudill of Atlanta, GA, many nieces and nephews, and a special niece, Sandra Workman Planck, who visited her faithfully during her residency at Magnolia Springs.
In 1952 she moved to Dayton, Ohio, and went to work for General Motors. She retired after 34 years and returned to the Morehead area with her husband where they successfully farmed for over 30 years. She was an active member of Mt. Pisgah Christian Church, and a past member of the Rowan County Homemakers Club. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, quilting, working crossword puzzles and attending church.
A private graveside service will be conducted at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jack Hinton officiating.
