Mary Louise Hamm, age 90, of Clearfield, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, February 2, 2022.
Born December 6, 1931, in Gwinn, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late John and Louise Koski. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Koski and Bill Koski of Gwinn. She is survived by one sister, Gloria LaFave and two brothers Bob Koski, and Paul Koski and wife Betsy of Gwinn, Michigan.
During their 64 years of marriage, Pete and Mary Lou traveled across the country as an Air Force family, living in six states over the years. She loved singing, traveling, playing cards, telling and reading stories, writing letters, crocheting, watching butterflies, and most of all spending time with her family.
Quick-witted, sharp, and selfless, she was the family historian, the biggest cheerleader of those she loved, never forgetting any of their accomplishments, always sharing them with others.
She was an excellent cook, and made the best homemade pizza, crescent rolls, butterscotch dessert and German chocolate cake the world has ever seen.
Mary Lou was a beloved member of the Clearfield Tabernacle First Church of God where she worshipped the Lord, had an extensive card ministry, and enjoyed fellowship with many special friends.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, John B. “Pete” Hamm of Clearfield. She is survived by her three children and their partners, John Hamm and Kim Lambert of Clearfield, Rob and Linda Hamm of Morehead and Mary Beth and Tommy Armstrong of Morehead. She is also survived by three grandchildren (whom she considered her pride and joy), Chelsea Armstrong, Megan Armstrong and Kristen McKayla Hamm, but she will be missed by countless others. Her thoughtful nature extended throughout the community she loved and far beyond.
