Mary Edna Waltz Egan, 99, of Batavia, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026.
She was born on February 5, 1926, in Rowan County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Russell Logan Waltz and Hannah Bell McCormick Waltz.
Mary was preceded in death by five brothers, Norman Waltz, Ora Waltz, Luster Waltz, Edward Waltz, and Arnold Waltz; seven sisters, Thelma Estep, Ruby McRoberts, Audrey White, Opal Tackett, Onolda Caudill, Ada Morehouse, and Faye Adkins; her beloved son, Donnie Joe Egan, in 1994; and her husband, Milford Patrick Egan, in 2009.
She is survived by her daughter, Patti (Mike) Sibert of Batavia, Ohio; her sister, Wanda Littleton of Wallingford, Kentucky; two granddaughters, Shannon (Rob) Rash and Sarah Sibert; and two great-grandchildren, Mikayla and Maddox Rash, all of Batavia, Ohio.
Mary was a devoted homemaker, gardener, and talented seamstress who was also known as a fabulous cook and for her creativity in crafts. With her warm personality and caring heart, she was a special aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will be fondly remembered for her 47 years of loving devotion as caretaker to her son, Donnie Joe. Mary moved from Kentucky to Ohio in 2011 to be close to family and enjoyed condo living.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Greg Halcomb officiating. Burial will follow in the Cranston Cemetery
Pallbearers will be Marty Littleton, Steve Littleton, Rick Waltz, Tony Waltz, Randy Waltz, Rob Rash, Max Rash, Greg Coss.
Visitation for Mary Edna Waltz Egan will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Cranston Cemetery Association, Memorial Fund for Mary Egan, 280 Pond Lick Road, Morehead, KY 40351.
