Marvin Stanley Howard, age 72, of Evergreen Road, Morehead, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at his residence.
Born January 13, 1949, in Morehead, he was a son of the late Stanley and Mary Ava Conley Howard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifton Howard and Emil Howard, and one sister, Violet Daroci.
He is survived by one son, Joseph Howard of Morehead; one daughter, Mary Kay Howard Marcum and husband Paul of Floyd, Indiana; and three grandchildren, Elizabeth Cantrell, Chase Cantrell, and Savannah Cantrell.
Other survivors include three brothers, Emerson Howard, Carl Howard, and Melvin Howard, all of Morehead; three sisters, Vivian Ross of Gaylor, Michigan, Florene Whitt and Carolyn Blair, both of Morehead; numerous nieces and nephews including Dianna Whitt, Melissa Davis, Jonathan Davis, Montana Davis, and Austin Sloan, as well as other relatives and friends.
Marvin served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and was a longtime concrete finisher, carpenter, and farmer. He enjoyed fishing, camping, cutting wood, listening to Bluegrass music, and especially spending time with his family. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
Graveside services will be conducted 3 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2021, at Howard – Smith Cemetery on Open Fork Road with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.
Pallbearers: Steve Hall, Melvin Howard, Jonathan Davis, Carl Howard, Dianna Whitt, Patrick Whitt, Michael Huffman, and Austin Sloan. Honorary pallbearers: Joseph Howard and Emerson Howard.
At his request, there will be no visitation.
