Marvin E. Burton, age 78, of Hilltop Road, Ewing, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at U.K. Medical Center in Lexington after a brief illness.
Born August 2, 1945, in Magoffin County, he was a son of the late Lucian and Audra Adams Burton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Jane Lowery Burton; a daughter, Angie Burton Lykins; two brothers, Carson Burton and Phillip Burton; and one sister, Ersie Pettit.
Marvin is survived by two sons, Matthew Burton (Alisha) of Hillsboro and Brian Burton (Alicia Whitaker) of Richmond; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, Larry Burton (Karen) of Ewing; one sister, Christine Moore of Flemingsburg; several nieces and nephews, other extended family and friends.
He was a life-long farmer and was a former employee at CTI Foods, Fleming Mobile Homes, and Gateway Community Action. He served as a member of Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Department and was of the Christian faith.
Marvin enjoyed farming, driving tractors, telling stories, fishing, and hunting. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday, September 4, 2023, at Hutton Funeral Home, with a celebration of life immediately following at 6:00 p.m. with Brother Randy Hawkins and Brother James Hickerson officiating.
