Martin Lee Cottrill, age 80, of McGlone Creek, Olive Hill, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.
Born June 5, 1942, in Doddridge County, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Lloyd John Cottrill and Tempest Bertha Leggett Cottrill.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Alta McCarty Cottrill, and three children: Tempest Kerns (Loren) of Farmington, WV, Robert Cottrill (Annie Kerns) of Lumberport, WV, and Kitty Cottrill (Billy Hatcher) of Morehead, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Other survivors include six siblings, Jack Cottrill, Carson Carson Cottrill, Fred Cottrill, Thelma McCarty, and Alma Hayhurst, all of Lumberport, WV, and Mary Smith of Joetown, WV, as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents, 12 brothers and sisters, and 5 children.
He owned and operated Lee’s Auto Repair in Fairmont, WV, for more than 20 years and was a master mechanic and former coal miner. He enjoyed attending car shows and owned several antique and street cars. Martin was devoted to his family and especially enjoyed traveling across America with his wife and spending time with the grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
