Martha Madeline Evans Johnson, age 81, of Old River Road, Salt Lick, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025, at UK St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead.  

She was born September 15, 1943, in Mt. Sterling and was the daughter of the late Matthew Evans and Mary Margaret Adams Evans.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Johnson and one sister, Jennifer Conn. 

She is survived by one son, John Highley of Salt Lick; three brothers, John Evans of Salt Lick, James Anthony Evans of Uncasville, Connecticut, and Thomas Evans of Morehead; and other extended family and friends.
 
Martha was a retired registered nurse for St. Claire Regional Medical Center after 30 years of dedicated service. She was a long-standing member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Salt Lick. Martha was an avid Bob Ross fan and enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles. She will be greatly missed and remembered with love.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Eddie Dennison officiating. 

Burial will be in the Jones Cemetery at Midland.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.  

Visitation is from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
