Martha Dunaway Obituary

Martha Pauline Dunaway, age 72, of Morehead, went home to be with her Lord, Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead after a courageous battle with Covid.

She was born August 15, 1949, in Lewis County, and was the daughter of the late Archie and Dorathy Dunaway.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved son, Emmanuel White; a granddaughter, Arianna White; a daughter-in-law, Cathy White; a sister, Ruby Kinder, whom she loved unconditionally; and a brother, James Dunaway.

She is survived by her children, Rebekah (Dan) Stupakewicz, Mark (Suzi) White, Gavin White, and Serenity “Summer” (Kyle) Bradley; her brothers and sisters, Agnes McAdams, Joe Dunaway, Beulah Gilbert, and Jack Stevens; seven grandchildren, Ben Stupakewicz, Ethan Stupakewicz, Chloe White, Daniel White, Zoey Bradley, Jase Bradley, and Noah Bradley; her “adopted” kids, Merry-Jo McClurg Cloud, Dezeray Powell, Jonathan Mocabee and Erin Mocabee; and several nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

Martha was a nursing assistant at St. Claire Regional Medical Center for many years. She wrote and published three books, Clock Without Hands, Bouquet of Thorns, and Portraits of The Soul. Martha was an abuse survivor and advocate, and served on the board at Doves of Gateway for many years.

She loved her children and grandkids with everything in her. Martha enjoyed life, had a hilarious personality, known for her beautiful flower gardens, gave the best hugs, and was our everything. She will live on in her grandbaby’s blue eyes, their smiles, and laughter.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bro. Joe Riley and Bro. Dave Keeton officiating.  Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
